Abstract

Children rarely participate in policymaking, including for policies that directly affect them. In addition to practical difficulties, deep-rooted cultural beliefs persist about children’s limited capacities and role in society. This policy brief describes a multi-pronged process for engaging with school-aged children and involving them in updating Ghana’s national Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Policy.
